This artist creates drawings out of objects...many of which are food. Take a look at his work and think about ways you can draw with objects you use on a daily basis. The picture below is made from slices of burnt wonder bread. More here
This artwork was interesting! I really liked the bacon alphabet, and the "who done it" with the line up of fragrances. I would get that as art work in my apartment. This food piece reminded me of the advertisement for top chef desserts. I think its really neat how you can make a picture out of other items and looking from a birds eye view on it. Its just very interesting and must be difficult to do!
Pamela, I agree. It is amazing how changing the context of something can effect our perception. What's happening here is called "optical mixing". We will have a lesson on it in a couple of weeks. And you will have the opportunity to try this same effect using paint.
I had to look at this like 3 times to see what I was really seeing. when I realized it was zoomed out and the toast was actually whole pieces of bread (lol) I was like ok... this is so cool. I couldnt imagine the process to get the right burn marks on each piece and how long it took.
I can now see pictures being made of just about anything. This is totally out of the box in creativity.
